Revitalizing GrowMate: A Modern Experience for Urban Farmers
This project was about transforming the GrowMate website to reflect the modern, engaging, and user-friendly interface that its plant care app embodies. The redesign aimed to make gardening accessible to anyone, regardless of their experience level, by providing a seamless way to understand and interact with the app's features. By focusing on simplifying user journeys and enhancing visual appeal, we resolved issues of outdated design and functionality, making the platform more inviting and intuitive for urban farmers.
The main objective of this project was to overhaul Growmate's current website, which can be accessed at growmate.au.
Upon carefully examining the existing website, I successfully pinpointed various areas for improvement, particularly in terms of user experience and visual aesthetics. Addressing these issues was crucial to attracting a larger audience and potential users.
One key area that required immediate attention was the landing page. As the product had already transitioned from the prelaunch phase to the official launch phase, updating the landing page accordingly was essential. 02
My Role and Duration
As a junior UX designer, I collaborated closely with a senior designer to ideate, prototype, and refine the user interface. My primary responsibilities included conducting user research, creating wireframes, and assisting with user testing and prototype adjustments. This project spanned over three months, from initial research to final design recommendations.

Goals
I conducted extensive research and brainstorming sessions to ensure that the redesign aligned perfectly with Growmate's well-established standards as a leading grow plant app. This activities allowed me to develop a new and improved UI design that not only met the desired standards but also enhanced the website's overall user experience.
Our goals were to simplify the user's journey to learn about and download the GrowMate app, showcase its features compellingly, and motivate visitors by highlighting community success stories. On the business side, we aimed to increase app downloads and user engagement by improving the site's usability and appeal.04
Design Process
The design process began with gathering user feedback on the existing website and identifying pain points. The new design adopted a color scheme of red and green, reflecting the vibrant and energetic brand identity. Initial prototypes focused on simplifying the user journey and user journey and integrating gamified elements like progress tracking and rewards. Each feature, was iteratively refined based on feedback from weekly user testing sessions to ensure they were intuitive and fun, employing clear CTAs and streamlined navigation. The final designs were developed into high-fidelity prototypes that demonstrated the proposed user flow and interactions.

Result
The proposed changes are expected to significantly improve user engagement based on usability testing metrics. Key anticipated outcomes include:
Reduced bounce rates due to enhanced navigational clarity.
Increased user registrations from improved visibility of community features and benefits.
Enhanced user satisfaction scores, indicating a better overall user experience.
Despite challenges such as remote collaboration and the absence of a formal design system within the startup environment, these design improvements are poised to foster a more connected and supported community of urban gardeners, aligning with the business's long-term vision.
